Twitter has become one of the most popular social networking platform for people who want to stay up-to-date with trending topics. You could find just about any kind of information – whether it’s about politics or celebrity gossips. While it helps you learn new things, there are quite a few restrictions on Twitter that might make it a little challenging for you to connect with your favorite people.
There are times when you want to unfollow someone on Twitter for some reason. Perhaps you don’t want people to know you are following the person or unfollow someone as you are no longer interested in knowing what they are posting.
However, you may have to follow the profile to collect information about their latest posts. You can’t know their recent or old tweets if they have gone protected on Twitter when you aren’t following them.
The main reason why people protected their accounts is that they do not want the non-followers to access their tweets. Maybe, they post sensitive information or any strategic detail that they do not want others to access.
Now, coming back to the question, is it possible to view protected tweets without following? Or how can you view protected tweets?
Let’s find out.
How to View Protected Tweets
There is no way to view protected tweets of other users on Twitter without following them. There’s a good reason behind that is the user’s privacy. The best way is to send a follow request and wait for them to approve it. You can also ask their permission via email or a mutual follower.
If the private account doesn’t accept your follow request, you can also drop a short yet convincing message asking the user to accept your request. This is one of the effective ways of getting the user to consider approving your request on Twitter. Alternatively, you can drop an email with the same request.
Also, not every user who has gone private on Twitter has a private account on other social media sites. You could easily check their posts on other social accounts if they have public accounts.
Alternative Ways to View Protected Tweets
1. Ask a Friend
If the person has still not accepted your request on Twitter, the only way you could find out about their tweets is by asking a friend who follows them on Twitter.
The tweets of the user will be visible to those who are following this person. So, your best bet is to request your friend to share the user’s tweets with you.
2. Sign up for a New Twitter Account
A new profile gives you plenty of opportunities to get your request accepted. Perhaps, the user will accept the following request from your fake account.
Now, creating a new profile is quite a simple procedure. Just pick a username that’s available on Twitter, write a bio, and put a profile picture. You don’t necessarily have to upload your photo. Upload any random photo and send a friend request to the private user.
3. Third-party Apps – Are They Worth It?
There are many third-party apps that claim to view protected tweets, and this could be done anonymously. While that might sound promising, never trust such apps and websites.
There is a high chance they are nothing but scammers trying to steal your private information so that they could sell it to other websites for product promotion.

He used an Ad Group to extract more data on the subdomain. Eventually, he found out that if you change the value of “UserID, ” the targeted account’s data will be available—although they are private. The story is from 2017, and Cj reportedly made a video about the bug and sent it to the support team of TWTR. So, don’t bother to try what he did.
