Here’s What Has Happened to MapleStory Now – Goody Feed
Remember MapleStory? It was the game most, if not all, kids played back then. And it was all we could talk and think about, especially if there’s any MapleSEA event.
We bragged about our levels, made our first boyfriend/girlfriend in the game and made plans to hang out with friends within the game. It was like Facebook, just more fun.
I can’t help but wonder, what happened to MapleStory? Is it still alive? Read on to find out more about what happened to our favourite game.
MapleStory is still alive and kicking

YES! That’s the golden question answered: the game is still alive! In fact, your cute chibi character still exists! Time to log in and relive some childhood memories, if you still remember your password, that is.
Even better call up some of your childhood buddies and ask if they’re interested in a game of MapleStory or two over the weekends. Grab a few cans of beer and set things up in a person’s house.
But don’t be shocked because just like you, the game has changed over the years.
The most important aspect of the game disappeared
The part that made MapleStory so fun for us back then was the social aspect of the game. People just logged into the game and hung around places like Henesys to chat with online friends. Sometimes, people played together so much they decided to meet IRL too.
People said MSN took over from mIRC but I prefer to think it’s MapleStory. But not anymore. In 2016, the hangout spot at Henesys was so empty you’d think everyone has quitted the game.
According to people who have kept up with the game since 2007, MapleStory seemed to have abandoned the social factor and focused on the solo aspects of the game. Party play at various places like Stronghold, Monster Park and Crimsonwood were removed, together with the family/mentor system.

Nexon to close down MapleStory 2 global servers this spring – Gamasutra
MapleStory 2, the 2015 sequel to the original 2D MMO game MapleStory, is going offline for good on May 27, pleStory 2, the 2015 sequel to the original 2D MMO game MapleStory, is going offline for good on May 27, 2020.
The shutdown is ultimately due to the fact that the game, and its more recent rework, have failed to live up to expectations and will see the global servers, website, forums, and Discord server for MapleStory 2 turned off later this spring.
Right now, the team is working to start the final lineup of in-game events and has discontinued the sale of in-game Blue Meret and Meso Token currency. While a post from the dev team notes that support will continue right up until May 27, no additional updates are planned for the rest of the game’s lifetime.
“We are forever grateful for your patience and dedication to MapleStory 2 as we tried to rework the game starting with Project New Leaf, but ultimately we’ve decided that we will not be able to provide the type of service that would live up to your expectations, ” reads that post. “We took a hard look at the current state of the game and its future roadmap, and sadly reached the conclusion that it would be difficult to maintain long-term continuation of the game while remaining true to what made MapleStory 2 your MapleStory 2. ”

5th Job Skills – Maple Guide | MapleStory
You can directly move to the information you want by searching it with [Ctrl + F] you reach Lv. 200 and complete job advancement quests, you can begin to utilize 5th Job skills. Unlike 1st – 4th Job skills, 5th Job skills divide into 3 different types of skills:5th Job Skills are obtained, and have their Skill Levels boosted, by equipping Nodes on the V Matrix. These Nodes can be chosen, combined, and enhanced by players through the V Matrix, and you can learn more about it in the V Matrix Maple Skills
The below 5th Job Skills are available to all jobs and classes.

Decent Combat Orders
Temporarily increases all of your skill levels. Further raises 4th job skills that are already at master level. Other skills can only be increased to master level.
Decent Holy Symbol
Temporarily gain extra EXP and items when hunting monsters. Does not stack with Holy Symbol.
Decent Hyper Body
Increases Max HP and Max MP. Does not stack with Hyper Body.
Decent Mystic Door
Creates a portal that leads to the nearest town. You (and only you) can use it multiple times until it disappears. Press Up to use it.
Decent Sharp Eyes
Allows you to locate an enemy’s weak spot to inflict lethal damage against them. Does not stack with Sharp Eyes.
Decent Speed Infusion
Consumes HP to increase your attack speed by 1 level for a fixed period of time. Can be stacked with buffs other than Speed Infusion.
Erda Nova
Gathers Erda from yourself and your surroundings to batter enemies. Disrupts the Erda of your target, which binds their movements.
Erda Shower
Fires a blast of compressed Erda at nearby enemies.
Rope Lift
Fires a grappling hook to a platform above you to ascend quickly.
Solar Crest
Mitra’s power manifests the searing heat of the sun as a blazing inferno. The flame emblem is unaffected by attack reflection and disappears when you change maps.
Completion of all Cernium story quests
True Arachnid Reflection
The collapsing space between the Mirror World and reality become linked with Will’s Erda, causing the spider within the mirror to temporarily materialize in reality.
Completion of all Esfera story quests
Will of Erda
Hones your resolve to ignore certain abnormal status effects. Immune to Abnormal Status for 3 sec after use.

Maple World Goddess’s Blessing
The Maple World Goddess’s Blessing increases all stats and damage. Can only be used when you have 1 of the following skills applied: Maple Warrior, Call of Cygnus, Nova Warrior, Hero of the Flora, President’s Orders, Anima Warrior, Sengoku Warrior, Maple Guardian, or Rhinne’s Protection.
Weapon Aura
Infuses your weapon with a portion of your health, granting it a visible aura and temporarily empowering it. The aura wave is unaffected by attack reflection.
Worldreaver
Unleashes a brutal slash that decimates all in sight.

Paladin 5th Job Skill Info
Divine Echo
Grants an echo of your battle prowess to a party member. It cannot be used on a party member who is already echoing the skills of another Paladin.
Grand Guardian
A glorious cross-section of light blazes, symbolizing noble sacrifice. You can gain more strength the longer the sacrifice continues.
Hammers of the Righteous
Summons a whirling bulwark of righteous hammers to strike down nearby enemies.
Dark Knight 5th Job Skill Info
Calamitous Cyclone
Swings a spear so fast it creates a dark storm and devastate the area in front of you. The final attack is unaffected by attack ignore and attack reflection.
Radiant Evil
Evil Eye reveals itself and blasts nearby enemies.
Spear of Darkness
Hurls a spear of utter darkness at the enemy. Direct the spear with the up and down arrow keys. Unaffected by attack reflection.

Celestial Dance
Simultaneously unleashes the power of the sun and moon.
Empress Cygnus’s Blessing
The blessing of Cygnus increases damage and restores HP over time.
Flare Slash
Unleash an explosive eruption of forged Spiritual Resin. Activates when your attack skill hits while in Falling Moon or Rising Sun stances. Cooldown is reduced when stance is changed with Equinox Cycle, Styx Crossing hits, or when the afterimage created by Celestial Dance attacks. Flare Slash is unaffected by attack reflection.
Phalanx Charge
Summons brave Spearmen of the Cygnus Knights to charge enemies in a phalanx formation.
Rift of Damnation
Creates a rift between the world of the living and the Underworld when used with Styx Crossing.
Soul Eclipse
Focuses your wisdom and the strength of your soul to call forth a stunning eclipse. When the sun and the moon are overlapped, use the skill one more time to use Equinox Divide. The eclipse is unaffected by attack reflection.

Blaster 5th Job Skill Info
Afterimage Shock
A powerful attack creates afterimage-like shockwaves, which sweep through enemies. The afterimages’ attacks are unaffected by attack reflection. Using the skill again, while its effect is active, will cancel that effect.
Bullet Blast
Use the Revolver Gauntlet to unleash the combined power of all of your bullets in one concussive blast. The Charge and explosion deal damage to enemies even when they are under attack reflection. The Charge action cannot be canceled by the Charge Skill.
Gatling Punch
Throws a rapid barrage of punches out in front of you.
Resistance Infantry
Summons a squad of Resistance infantry to blast the enemy with long-ranged attacks.
Rocket Punch
Load up your Arm Cannon with armor-piercing ammo, and deliver an earth-shattering punch.

Aran 5th Job Skill Info
Blizzard Tempest
Create a blizzard that stuns enemies and calls down the Dire Wolf’s Curse. Enemies hit by the blizzard will resist stuns for 90 seconds and won’t be stunned by other skills, such as Blizzard Tempest, either. If Aran’s direct attack skills, aside from Finisher – Storm of Fear, successfully hit enemies who are under the Dire Wolf’s Curse, the curse grows stronger, dealing additional damage to any enemies under the curse. Blizzard Tempest attacks do not count toward combos, and the ice chunks ignore attack reflection. Right-click to toggle the ice chunk effect ON/OFF.
Fenrir Crash
Swing your Polearm and call forth a mythical wolf to deliver a devastating blow. After using Beyond Blade (3rd Hit), use it again to prevent being pushed back by enemy attacks.
Beyond Blade Lv. 30+
Freud’s Wisdom
Even in the darkest times, Freud could be relied upon for his wisdom. Call upon Freud’s wisdom to steel your resolve and enhance your combat prowess.
Maha’s Carnage
Swings Maha around in a circle, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Maha’s Fury
Unleash Maha’s full power and strike down your foes.

All enemies, including bosses, will be slowed when hit by Draco Surge. The Dragon Warrant is unaffected by attack reflection.
Gigas Wave Lv. 30+
Dragon Blaze
Call forth an ancient dragon god, and with it flame incarnate. Surround yourself with flames to attack nearby enemies, and leave Fire Energy in your wake. If your attack skill successfully hits, the Fire Energy you leave behind will explode to deal AoE damage. Using the skill again, while its effect is active, will cancel that effect. If your attack skill successfully hits during cooldown, during which Dragon Blaze isn’t active, a flame orb will form to deal additional attacks. All Dragon Blaze attacks are unaffected by attack reflection. Right-click to toggle the Flame Orb Creation on/off..
Grandis Goddess’s Blessing
The goddess of Grandis has a different appearance for each of her child races, and she grants a different blessing to each race.

Calls upon the deities of the Nova for the power to punish your enemies.

Battoujutsu Zankou
Charges quickly with the energy of the crescent moon to slash several enemies. Can attack a single enemy repeatedly and recover Hayato’s sword energy after use. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Iaijutsu Phantom Blade
Delivers a series of unbelievably swift strikes. Successful strikes grant a buff that stacks up to 5 times. Usable during Sanrenzan, Blade Flash, and Shinsoku.
Instant Slice
Display your masterful swordsmanship by slicing down your enemies in a single blinding flash. This skill can be activated even while using certain other skills.
Princess Sakuno’s Blessing
The blessing of Princess Sakuno will protect you from abnormal status effects and increase your final damage.

Light of Courage
Inspire your allies and scorch your enemies with the light of unfailing courage. When the sword of light hits enemies, it inflicts the Light of Courage debuff upon them. Additional hits occur when attacking with Mihile’s direct attack skills. If you re-use this skill to immediately end it, a final light shines on any enemies with the Light of Courage debuff, dealing additional damage. Using this skill in conjunction with Four-Point Assault, Charging Light, Sword of Light, and Radiant Soul Slash will cause it to fade away without the final light effect. All attacks activated with Light of Courage are unaffected by attack reflection.
Radiant Soul
Draw on your soul power and imbue your sword with a radiant light. You can use Radiant Soul Slash with the attack key while equipping Radiant Soul.
Shield of Light
Become the shield that protects party members from enemy attacks.
Sword of Light
Focuses the power of your Soul Shield into the form of the legendary Sword of Light to strike down your foes.

Summons loyal Mastema to fight by your side.

Sacrifice all your Fury to conjure a malevolent serpent of pure rage.

Demonic Blast
Sacrifice your own health to release an explosion of demonic energy.
Demonic Frenzy
Sacrifice your body to the flame to fuel your vengeance. Your demonic blood is unaffected by attack ignore and attack reflection.
Dimensional Sword
Amplify the Desperado’s power and call forth a brilliant, magical sword. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Revenant
Your unceasing rage warps you into a specter, wavering between life and death. While active, HP cannot drop below 1 due to damage taken, and that damage is saved as fury. Your fury then attacks the surrounding in the form of thorns, though it will also keep you in pain, even after the skill ends. The thorns of fury deal damage to enemies with attack ignore and attack reflection. While Revenant is active, receiving continuous damage due to the fury effect will maintain your combat state.

Zero 5th Job Skill Info
Chrono Break
Freeze time, breaking through its limits! Binds enemies for 90 seconds. During that time, bound enemies are immune to Limit Break and other bind skills. The damage dealt at the end of the skill is unaffected by invincibility, attack ignore, and attack reflection, but cannot be fatal.
Shadow Flash (Alpha)
Drive swords into the earth to create a personal sanctuary, then inflict a devastating attack after you teleport back in time. Cooldown for Alpha and Beta will be applied separately.
Shadow Flash (Beta)
Transcendent Rhinne’s Prayer
The prayers of Rhinne, the Transcendent of Time, increase damage.
Twin Blades of Time
Alpha and Beta attack together to demolish the enemy.

DoT Punisher
Summons flame orbs from another dimension to pursue enemies. The number of orbs you summon depends on how many damage over time stacks you have on enemies.
Elemental Fury
Unleash the fury of flame in the form of an enraged spirit. Can only be used when Ifrit is summoned. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Ifrit Lv. 30+
Ethereal Form
Moves you to a different dimension to reduce the damage you take. Use the skill again to return. While in Ethereal Form, you cannot use other skills.
Mana Overload
Increases your attack skills by overloading the mana flowing through you.
Poison Chain
Unleash a fatal poison on a chain of enemies. Poisoned enemies periodically release clouds of additional poison, damaging both themselves and other nearby enemies. Even if they survive the initial explosion, the poison effect stacks, raising the power of further explosions. If an enemy dies or disappears before an explosion, the poison spreads to nearby enemies immediately. Once a certain number of explosions has occurred, the poison will wear off from every enemy simultaneously. Doesn’t activate Elemental Drain, and poison is unaffected by attack reflection.
Poison Nova
Releases a poisonous cloud that spreads in all directions, striking nearby enemies.
Unreliable Memory
Calls upon previously learned magic from memory. Results may vary.
Arch Mage (Ice, Lightning) 5th Job Skill Info
Bolt Barrage
Summons a wall of lightning that pulses forward, electrocuting enemies in its path.
Ice Age
Covers the world in the ice of an ancient glacier. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Jupiter Thunder
Launch orbs full of the thunder god’s power directly at your enemies. nThe orb goes inside the enemy it touched to deal continuous shock damage. An electric current flows periodically around that enemy to attack others. If the enemy touched by the orb dies or disappears, another one appears in the location of the enemy and moves. nThe orb disappears if it consumes all of the max number of shocks or moves beyond a certain distance. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Spirit of Snow
Summon the devastating frosts of the El Nath Mountains. Unaffected by attack reflection.

Angel of Balance
Summons an angel of balance possessing both compassion and vengefulness.
Benediction
Calls upon your holy power to create a consecrated space that empowers and revitalizes your allies. Benedictions do not stack.
Divine Punishment
Punish the wicked in the name of Heaven.
Peacemaker
Hurl the embodiment of divine power directly at your enemies. When contacted, the object attacks the enemies and restores party member HP. The object turns into Holy Light when it disappears, attacking enemies nearby and granting a buff to party members. It disappears immediately if the skill is used again.

Inferno Sphere
Blaze through your enemies with the phoenix’s symbol of infinite life and death.
Orbital Inferno
Hurls a giant ball of flame that shoots forward before returning to you. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Salamander Mischief
Summon the fire of a playful salamander spirit. Salamander tracks a nearby enemy to attack when a direct skill attack by Blaze Wizard hits. In a single action, it either consumes all of the number of attacks or returns to the summoner’s location when it strays too far. Obtain Ember every time Salamander’s attack hits, and Salamander’s attack becomes stronger in proportion. You can get a Magic ATT increase buff in return for the Ember when Salamander disappears. This buff is not affected by Buff Freezer effects. Unaffected by attack reflection, and prioritizes boss with highest Max HP but Ignition effect cannot be applied.
Savage Flame
Unleashes the true might of the Essence of Fire.

Battle Mage 5th Job Skill Info
Abyssal Lightning
Immerse your surroundings in dark magic to gather up black lightning. When Dark Shock is active, using Teleport will activate Abyssal Lightning instead. Creates a netherworld passage around the Battle Mage periodically. Pressing a directional button will teleport you to the nearest passage in that direction, then close that passage. During your teleportation, black lightning will flash in your wake, damaging any enemies in reach and afflicting them with Dark Brand. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Dark Shock Lv. 20+
Altar of Annihilation
Summons an altar of destructive magic.
Aura Scythe
Combine all of your auras and become a grim specter of death.
Grim Harvest
Master the art of black magic and summon death itself to deal with your enemies. The summon duration gets longer as there are more souls to be sacrificed. The god of death’s attack deals damage to enemies even when they are under attack reflection.

Evan 5th Job Skill Info
Dragon Slam
[Mir Skill] Mir slams down and savagely attacks the enemy.
Elemental Barrage
Utilizes powerful elemental magic in succession. You’ll get a new power for a short time after each one. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Elemental Radiance
Cast a magical circle to channel the power of the constellations. Magic ATT starts to charge the magic circle when Evan’s magic hits a target, and it will operate when Magic ATT is full. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Ludicrous Speed
[Fusion Skill] Mir immediately stops attacking and teleports to Evan, creating a vortex that deals damage to nearby enemies.
Spiral of Mana
Utilize the Mana Burst’s pentacle to allow clusters of mana to swirl with the speed of a tornado on their own. Can be activated by pressing the down key and using Mana Burst again after 1 hit while Mana Burst IV is in use. There can be only 1 Spiral of Mana. When active, using Mana Burst IV temporarily reduces the number of attacks of Spiral of Mana. Unaffected by attack reflection.

Wyrmking’s Breath
[Fusion Skill] Evan infuses Mir with his magic during Dragon Slam, causing Mir to briefly grow and release a blast of elemental energy.

Illium 5th Job Skill Info
Conversion Overdrive
Activates and amplifies the power in magic wings to max out Magic Conversion.
Crystal Gate
Using advanced crystal technology, create passages you can move through freely. When you press the up key from the Crystal Gate that you activated, you can move to the next Crystal Gate that is set up from this Crystal Gate. If you use the last Crystal Gate that is set up, you will move back to the first Crystal Gate. The gates must be recharged after each use, and the gates that you actually used will take longer to recharge. You can receive enhancement and attack support buffs around the Crystal Gate, and it can also be set up in the air. Not affected by Buff Freezer effects, and moving through the passage is included as a necessary distance to activate the flow of combat.
Crystal Ignition
It radiates powerful energy that burns everything in its path. The skill can be maintained for a maximum of 10 seconds with the down key, while left and right movement is possible.
Crystalline Spirit
Use the power of mytocrystals to form a crystalline spirit and drive your enemies away. Can activate the Reaction skill with the crystalline spirit. Does not reduce the number of enemies that can be attacked when the Radiant Javelin comes into contact. Cannot use while Wings of Glory is active.
Reaction – Destruction Lv. 1+ and Reaction – Domination Lv. 1+
Reaction – Spectral Blast
When Crystal Ignition comes in contact with your crystal, its strength is enhanced, and it fires 3 powerful beams of light in the direction Crystal Ignition is traveling. Levels up alongside Crystal Ignition.
Templar Knight
Summons a machine warrior that uses the New World’s weapon, Gram. The Gramholder prepares to discharge in the direction of Illium, and does not change direction until it discharges. During preparation, if the Crystal Charge exceeds a certain amount, it can shoot more powerful sword energy.

The more enemies or objects are pulled in, the distance is reduced and the power is increased. If the debuffed enemy disappears or it’s a flying enemy, a gravity orb appears to carry out the rule. All attacks except for the first attack of Law of Gravity are unaffected by attack reflection, and using the skill again can immediately end the debuff or gravity orb.
Psychic Tornado
Unleashes your psychic powers to create a tornado that gathers in nearby objects. Unaffected by attack reflection.
Ultimate – Mind Over Matter
Conjures ultra-dense matter out of pure psychic energy, and pushes it towards the enemy.
Ultimate – Psychic Shockwave

If at least 1 magic power accumulates, the orb can be freed to attack. Prioritizes in attacking the enemy with the highest Max HP. When the magic power of light and darkness is the same to create a balance or the more magic power that is accumulated, the damage increases. Magic power cannot accumulate while Equilibrium is active. All attacks from the orb are not affected by the effects of Sunfire, Eclipse, or Equilibrium. Unaffected by attack reflection.
