403 Forbidden Error 4Chan

403 Forbidden error message on 4chan? – ForNoob

I’m trying to access but I keep getting the 403 forbidden message error. I don’t think I am banned, and even if I was I would still be able to access the site because there is a feature implemented that allows banned users to access the site. So, is this happening to anyone else, or is it just me?

I try to avoid that place, but I just visited and got the same exact thing. They are probably doing server work.
Looking at their FAQ section it even says that if you get a 403 error you’re probably not banned. You’d probably have to do something unbelievably bad to even get banned at that site seeing as so much of what is posted on that site is sick and vile and possibly illegal in most countries. lol
Oh wow, what a relief. I thought it was just me. I keep getting the same exact error. I can access the main site, but not any boards.
This is happening to me too. I’ve also recently been caching bans meant for other people, possibly due to my ISP. I am in the UK and using Talk Talk broadband, these two issues may not be related however.
Not just you bro. Probably the servers. I’m getting the same thing. Thought I was banned for a sec there.
Anyone else getting 403 errors? Any idea what that is? : r/4chan

Someone was probably dicking around with Apache/Nginx’s permissions system at Cloudflare or something. There could be other reasons for it, but that’s my guess stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.

forbidden 403 on image URLS – Stack Overflow

I’m developing a web app using Angular5. I have a database that has some “posts” and each post contains an image URL that I take from 4chan API.
The URL is legit (If I check it manually it works) but I get 403 forbidden in my console when I debug in the web browser. another weird thing, if I go to the URL manually and then refresh my app, the image is suddenly shown.

can you post and example of image url from the API? It seems like a cookie problem. When you go on the URL manually, it must set some infos in the cookie for the 4chan domain, then when you application does the XHR the cookie is “re sent” automatically allowing access to the ressource

can I solve this in any way? without downloading the image to my storage

Looks like when the HTTP request header referrer is anything other than, I get this issue. Ive simply added the below to the HTML page and its fixed the problem:

Once your Angular app is loaded, you can also use Firefox Developer Console (Network Tab) modify image request (ie 403) and remove referrer header to test.
Remove referer

worked for me. probably proxy uses referrer to identify domains and blocks them for any reason. by removing referrer form headers block is not working
