As we step into the third decade of the 21st century, it seems like all games are getting their mobile port. Dragon Nest M is a mobile reimagining of a PC MMORPG Dragon Nest that had its run about a decade ago. Many people have enjoyed the original game and it was particularly praised for its PvP aspect as well as some other things. The series has had some other installments, with the World of Dragon Nest being the latest one from the franchise, but Dragon Nest M is the company’s first jab at the mobile market, and here is a review of how they did, with a guides section after it we’ve prepared from various community sources.

Development

Dragon Nest M release date was in June 2018 and it is offered by koramgame on Google Play, who are the game’s developers as well, while it is offered by Kunlun Global International Sdn Bhd on the iTunes App Store. On Google Play, this game has a very positive score of 4. 4 stars from over 100 thousand votes, which is quite a lot and reliable. iOS users seem to have enjoyed the game somewhat less with a 3. 7-star score on the iTunes App Store. While other renowned studios, like Nexon, were in on some of the titles from the Dragon Next franchise, this one was entrusted to koramgame who are also behind BLEACH Mobile 3D and Goddess: Primal Chaos.
There is another version of this game titled Dragon Nest M – SEA. It is a remastered version for English speaking market, offered by SIAMGAME and it is pretty much the same game, but it came out later and when the original was translated by koramgame, this one kind of died, with its last update being in 2019. The official version, just titled DN M, is regularly updated and very much alive, with players and community is strong and fresh updates.
Atmosphere
This game feels very neat and tidy, as opposed to the chaotic atmosphere many similar titles carry…
As far as action RPGs go, the atmosphere is comprised mostly of the environment like dungeons, the scenery, and of course monsters you encounter. In DN M, they are aplenty, as this is one action-packed MMO. Also, compared to many other MMORPGs on mobile, this game feels very neat and tidy, as opposed to the chaotic atmosphere many similar titles carry. This is achieved with a very well organized user interface and other innovative gameplay mechanics aimed to provide a better user experience. The rest is just made of animations, spells, and effects all popping up on the screen, which are all hallmarks of the genre and is all present here. The storyline takes us to a fantasy world of Altera, where stars that fell from the sky brought upon both the salvation and the destruction of the people. While one of those stars has brought the soul of the Prophet, evil rose up as well and now chaos abounds. The players are tasked with doing their part to stave off this rise of evil and bring order to the world.
GAMEplay
As mentioned, all of the MMORPG hallmarks are present here, but right at the very first glance. DN M is a lot more organized and neat, with a clear UI as mentioned…
As mentioned, all of the MMORPG hallmarks are present here, but right at the very first glance. DN M is a lot more organized and neat, with a clear UI as mentioned, but also other genre elements designed to make the user experience fluent and purposeful. For instance, the auto-path feature, which is now a standard addition to MMORPGs, was just pioneered in 2018, when this title was released.
The control scheme is also very much advanced compared to many titles two years ago. The player moves the character with one thumb sweep, while the other thumb uses the skills and abilities in the slots on the other side of the screen (you can change which one it is). Furthermore, swiping the other side of the screen (opposite from movement) will also rotate the camera to any angle you desire, pivoting around your character of course.
The UI is further cleared of all excess options, icons, offers, and stuff. There are even retractable option bars that you can choose to put away and clear up your UI even more. All these features help bring the focus to the gameplay, where it belongs, and give the players a clear view of the game.
One of the RPG hallmarks is the class system, and the character classes in DN M are seven:
Kali – medium and short-range magic attacks and summoning creatures
Tinkerer – mid-ranged magic attacks and summoning pets
Cleric – melee range magic attacks and strong defense
Warrior – melee range physical attacks and fast movement
Sorceress – mid-range magic attacks and massive AOE damage
Archer – mid-range physical attacks and fast shooting
Assassin – melee physical DPS and heavy burst damage
Right off the bat, we see that while they do bear some traditional hallmarks, the character classes in DN M are anything but standard. Firstly, the cleric is both a support and a tank, while we also have nice additions of some less popular classes like the Tinkerer. All classes have a different ‘difficulty of operation’ score given by the developer, with melee classes like the Cleric and the Warrior being easier to master, and with the Sorceress being the hardest, but not any one of them can be crowned as the best class, for they all bring their own skillset to the table.
All classes also have many different abilities you can learn and master, while you need to choose which set to equip in slots available for use in combat. Classes have 9 basic skills, all of which have ranks (some 5 and some 10). And, all classes also have special skills unlocked at levels 15 and 45, and can also reach the Awaken rank.
Graphics
With all the clutter and unnecessary icons removed, preventing them to clog the UI, it gives the player a view of this game’s full 3D spectrum of beautiful animations, character models, textures…
With all the clutter and unnecessary icons removed, preventing them to clog the UI, it gives the player a view of this game’s full 3D spectrum of beautiful animations, character models, textures, details, and more. DN M is a full 3D game, with limitless camera capabilities and an incredibly pleasant feeling all around, visually speaking. The character models are faithful representations of the old characters from the Dragon Nest games a decade ago, but are now more detailed and revamped completely.
Tech Compatibility
The gameplay can be somewhat demanding at the highpoints in the game…
Dragon Nest M is a full 3D game, with 3D characters, the environment, and animations. The gameplay can thus be somewhat demanding at the highpoints in the game, like massive boss fights or PvP. However, the game did come out in 2018, so any never and decent Smartphone will have any problem with it. We recommend over 2GB of RAM for CPU speed. Android players will need OS version 4. 3 or up and the size of the game app varies, while iOS users will need iOS 9. 0 or up, and the file size is predetermined at 3GB.

Free-to-play Friendly
Microtransactions are limited to the shop, where they belong…
The clearing of the UI we mentioned means that there are no annoying offers popping up on the screen while you play. Microtransactions are limited to the shop, where they belong. Also, DN M is completely free to do download and play, and you can achieve everything in the game without spending any real money. However, playing it competitively against other players will require cash, for people who want to be the best to spend a lot on these kinds of games. Top-ups and in-game packs vary in price from $0. 99 to $99. 99, which is a standard price range for most mobile games.
Verdict
Many people who love MMORPGs opt to try Dragon Nest M and a vast majority sticks with it. It is perhaps one of the best-looking mobile games of its genre, not just for the full 3D quality but the clear user interface…
Many people who love MMORPGs opt to try Dragon Nest M and a vast majority sticks with it. It is perhaps one of the best-looking mobile games of its genre, not just for the full 3D quality but the clear user interface. Also, the gameplay is tailored to save us from the usual tiresome things in these kinds of games. For instance, this game was one of the first to pioneer auto pathing, just tap on the quest and you find the NPC, no fuss. It is definitely worth the try and it will prove fun and engaging.

Farming is a crucial part of DN M and to farm you need seeds. All kinds of seeds are usually purchased from the Old Maury’s Farm. The players plant seeds on the Public Farm field and they yield to different harvest items. Those items are usually used for cooking. Now, one of the more elusive seeds is the cocoa seed, alongside peach and some other perhaps. And, unfortunately, there really isn’t any way to ensure its yield. You get cocoa seeds by RNG. So, with a bit of luck, if you farm regularly, you will hopefully get the amount you need.
BP, or battle points, is the measure of your character’s power. Like in similar games you raise it throughout all kinds of gameplay activities. While the usual things are mandatory, like in-game progress, doing quests, PvP, and stuff, there are some other things you can do to further increase BP or to increase it fast if you are starting a new account. You can do enhancement for your gear, for which you need Gold and Green Agates. Next, you can do the Breakthrough, which is available once you level up your gear to +20 and then on +40. You should consider other things, like refinement, monikers, battle and palace medals, heraldry, and more.
The easiest way to get wings is as a random reward. However, if you are really unlucky, you can purchase Wings for 12 Alteia’s Blessing at the Gods’ Bazaar. Just go to the Gods’ Bazaar, tap Wings, and choose your set. Currently, it offers Zodiac Wings, Wings of Blessing, as well as some tails, but more could be added later on.
Collect 12 Alteia’s Blessing
Go to Gods’ Bazaar
Tap Wings
Purchase your set
This is a problem most players run into because they create a character by accident, want to try other classes, or they want to change class but keep the same character name. Unfortunately you can’t delete your character. At least this option is still not available. However, if it’s your character name you want, you can change the name for free on your character easily, or you can also change the class for your char, but it will cost you.
Level 120/130 equipment is the prestigious level for gear and it is highly sought after by the late game players for both competitive PvP and PvE content. There are several types of level 120/130 gear in the game. The first one is through Weekly Quests. You can also purchase it on the Auction House for Orange Gems or Diamonds, which are earned through Daily Quests and from other sources. However, the best, fastest, and the most popular way to get this level 120/130 equipment is from the Nest Lair Enchanted mode and similar raids. We say “easy”, provided you are in a guild that does PvE challenging content. Doing the Nest on the Enchanted difficulty will yield Type B equipment.
However, there is also the PvP shop where you can purchase gear, like the highly sought-after Amulet. It is also awarded for PVP Gladiators. There is the Grade A and Grade S, Heraldry and Heraldry Grade S, and Heraldry 2 so far in the game. You can also try and purchase it on the auction house, but they may prove expensive. The best option for getting high-tier gear, like the Amulet, is through being consistent in playing either PvE or PvP.
In order to be able to obtain the Dark Avenger, your class needs to be Swordmaster/mercenary, which is called differently depending on if it’s from DN M or DN M Sea. So, change class if you are certain you are after this. Then, your main class quest will change to the Dark Avenger Quest. The questline will guide you through the progress. First, you clear all mobs in the quest area. Secondly, you kill the larger monsters, and then you must kill the final boss Specter. This is the first half of the Dark Avenger questline. In the second part, you must defeat Velskud in a duel, which might prove challenging, but after you are done the Dark Avenger class will be open and available for you.
If you want to play as Silver Hunter, you will need to pick the Hunter Class. All Hunters, upon reaching level 50, become Silver Hunters. This is a highly sought after class because they dish out insane damage and have high mobility. Silver Hunters are Acrobatics and Artillery skills all put in one, and they perform most of their skills mid-air, which is amazing to see and incredibly effective against all kinds of opponents. At level 50, you begin the Hunter Awakening Quest as well, which is your path to your specialization.
If you are looking for a way to combine lower-tier costumes to get costume A or S, it is done by crafting. You need to use 2 permanent costumes of the same body part (ex: head + head) found in the personal or glory shops, but every attempt has a success chance. IF you fail, your next attempt success chance increases by 1%. Two of the same rank will give the higher tier (ex: B+B=A). New costumes are constantly being added to the game if you are playing. DN M Sea is no longer being updated, and there are no S grade costumes there. The only costume still available there is the Metal Set, which is grade A.
There is no “best class”, so naturally, you should choose the one tailored best to your gameplay preferences. It used to be impossible to change class in-game unless you are to reroll the entire character, but class changing was added later on. Now, you need a Class Change Coupon, which is a level 40 general material, very rare. After you use it, you will go to the Class Change screen, where you can choose a new class and even play it on a trial, before you decide to commit.
