The HTC Sensation is a smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC Corporation that runs the Android 2. 3 Gingerbread software stock. [2] Officially announced by HTC on April 12, 2011, the HTC Sensation was launched by Vodafone in key European markets including the United Kingdom on May 19, 2011[6] and by T-Mobile in the United States on June 12, 2011 (marketed as the HTC Sensation 4G). [7] It was HTC’s fifth flagship Android phone[8] and the first HTC phone to support the HTC Sense 3. 0 user interface. At the time of its release, the Sensation XE was the world’s fastest Android phone. [9]
Software[edit]

The device shipped with Android 2. 3 and includes HTC Sense 3. 0 UI. [10]
The device was part of a new generation of HTC phones that have a signed bootloader. As a consequence, the phones were originally not rootable, thus denying users administrative rights to their phones. [11] Despite originally being shipped with the locked bootloader, [11] it was announced on July 10, 2011, that HTC Sensation devices would have their bootloaders unlocked due to overwhelming customer feedback since the device’s initial release. [12][13]
On July 29, 2011, a tool named Revolutionary was released by AlphaRevX and unrevoked, which enabled S-off, and subsequently, allowed permanent root. [14]
In August 2011, HTC officially allowed unlocking HTC Sensation bootloaders at the website. [15]
Update[edit]
In the beginning of March 2012, HTC updated their devices to Android 4. 0 Ice Cream Sandwich. [16] The update re-locked the bootloader, but developers found a procedure that made it possible to obtain S-off after the new ICS bootloader installed. [17]
HTC decided to fork their Sense user interface, leaving Sensation owners who updated to ICS with the Sense 3. 6 interface, as opposed to getting Sense 4. 0, which came with newer phones. [18]
The phone can be upgraded to Android 7. 2 with a custom ROM but development has stopped as the device is currently considered obsolete. [19]
Variants[edit]
HTC Sensation XE[edit]
On September 14, 2011, HTC released the Extended Edition (XE) of the HTC Sensation in Europe under the name HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio. [20] The Sensation XE had a faster dual core processor clocked at 1. 5 GHz (up from 1. 2 GHz on the stock Sensation), a 1500mAh and 1730mAh battery, and shipped with Android 2. 4 (Gingerbread) OS with HTC Sense 3. The Sensation XE featured a red speaker, buttons, rear camera, and the Beats logo to differentiate it from older Sensations. It included urbeats earphones, a renamed and redesigned iBeats headphone. [20]
HTC Sensation XL[edit]
On October 6, 2011, HTC released Sensation XL with a larger 4. 7 inch screen running HTC Sense 3. 5 with Beats Audio.

This is obviously an old model of phone. Nothing wrong with not having bleeding edge technology. Problem is that due to the OS (and it lacking enough horsepower to run much higher than it already has) most relevant apps for the device cannot be loaded as they are no longer supported on the play store and there basically being no outlet for simply getting files without infecting a basically what you get is a device that has an internet web browser, and rudimentary functions like clock, camera, flashlight and mostly what it is loaded with are ridiculously over priced. This is effectively no longer a smart phone based on its lack of ability to do much of anything. Its price does not reflect that lack of functionality.

I purchased this phone because I use to have an HTC Evo 4G and it worked well. However, this phone was advertised as new and it started to have problems just five weeks after I purchased it. The phone has some serious software, lcd and digitizer issues. Sometimes after making phone calls, the phone would automatically dialed a number. Initially, I was not aware of this until my contacts started calling me to notify me that I called them but I did not respond when they picked up my call. From then, I had to lock the screen immediately after I make calls. Other times, the phone would start opening different preinstalled apps such as google or my contact pages. It was obnoxious. I am getting rid of this phone. I believe that this was the issue that made the first owner return it. Buyer beware.

The HTC Sensation is a quality product overflowing, is very attractive and soft to the touch, is a first-generation Dual Core that does not disappoint anyone, is a well done, well done and a good this penssando buy it, do it, unless you are hesitating between this and the HTC EVO 3D, then the question is whether you want 3D or not, the bad, the EVO 3D is not its thickness, not its weight, is that once you like the 3D of your screen you can not have another phone, so you better buy is also important for those who like the root phone, this is one of the best for these purposes, has exelentes roms and overclocking can reach 1. 7GHz without jeopardizing the phone and with a lot of stability and fluidity of last phone if you want a top quality phone, beautiful, flexible and with many options in the world root, order it right now!

So I got this product on Oct 25th and it seems to work fine. I jacked itup with an Ankner battery and a PowerSkin and it gives me reliable performance. But there were two issues with the product. This is a refurbished product so the monor scratches were acceptabe to me.. However:1) The charger which was provided with the product was rated at 400ma caused the screen to malfunction. Thankfully i realized soon what was going on and damage was not done.. really?? I mean you put a refurb product out there and the charger is on steroids? Cant you just check the specs on the phone and give the right one?. Thankfully i had a charger from my old phone that was compatible which DID NOT want to fry my phone. 2) The buttons on volume rocker were missing… Whaaat? Really i mean this is a weird thing. I have bought used products before but never a refurb. Is this just the nature of the refurbished things? If yes then what is the difference between a refurb and a used product? Cause I am ok if this was a used product.

I got this phone in hopes that it would be a lot better than my last one and it has been nothing but crappy for me since I got it last month. It was really good at first but after about two weeks it started messing phone would keep telling me that google has stopped and something about the HTC setup has stopped working and it asked me if I wanted to report it but once I clicked to tell HTC it would tell me that that has stopped as its just this one phone, but I don’t recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic item. Major problem I have is that you can’t save many apps to the SD card, which tends to decrease how much of the little bit of onboard memory it comes with. Other than the tremendous drain on the battery that everything I tend to use does… I would say this is the best phone I have ever used. The camera is fantastic, the call quality is great. The speakerphone isn’t great… but I never liked speakerphone anyway. The 4G is fantastic as well. The screen is gorgeous and super responsive. I bought two of these phones, one for my wife, and one for me. I would easily pay this price again for both if I had sent this phone out super quick as well.

I bought it for my husband for Christmas and it only lasted him a couple of months. The ringer volume broke all of a sudden. The ring volume is turned up all the way in settings, however there is no sound when ringing. When I googled the problem it seems like it’s a very common issue. I didn’t have any insurance on it so too bad for me. I went to get it checked and I was told it needed new processor. I ‘d rather buy a different phone than put more money in this one. It’s not worth it.

That disappointment when opening the packing box phone, I found that he had no headphones, no this user manual, and the battery is used and this messed has slits, which prevents me to turn on the phone, and to enjoy the product, besides the product was packaged in a box 14x8x7 for a volumetric weight of 4. 72 pounds, much higher than you need for this product, which I cause additional costs me he sent decepción al abrir la caja del empaque del teléfono, me encontré que no tenia auriculares, no esta el manual de usuario, y la batería se ve que esta usada y en mal estado presenta hendiduras, lo cual me impide poder encender el teléfono, y poder disfrutar del producto, ademas el producto fue empacado en una caja de 14x8x7 para un peso volumetrico de 4. 72 libras, muy superior a lo necesario para este producto, lo cual me ocasiono gastos adicionales en le envió internacional.
