How do you open multiple instances of the client?: diablo3

How do you open multiple instances of the client?: diablo3

I did it before 2. 2. 0 with a shortcut and the -launch parameter, but now it simply says “Diablo III was unable to find either your file or your Data folder”I remember someone mentioning having to change something, but I can’t find the comment and googling hasn’t thread is archivedNew comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast
level 1If you have a shortcut on your desktop do click on your D3 to propertiesUnder the shortcut in the Target field add -launch at the endMine looks like this “E:\Games\Diablo III\Diablo ” -launchlevel 2Thanks, I’ve got it working, it just wouldn’t launch from the start menu for some reason, even with the -launch 1Not sure, I use ISBoxer and it handles all that automatically for me. You might could check ISBoxer forums and find out the 2Hmm interesting, running the shortcut directly from the d3 folder instead of the start menu worked, thanks

How to Run Multiple Clients in Diablo 3
Found this thought it might be good for other members if i can get it to work anyone can.
1. Update first your Diablo 3 game client by running it normally.
2. Copy the “Diablo III” game folder located in the Program Files or the Program Files (x86) folder to another location.
3. From the “Diablo III” game folder, right click “Diablo ” and select “Create Shortcut“.
4. Copy the shortcut, to a new location accessible to you. (ex. Desktop)
5. Right click on the Shortcut icon, then click on “Properties“.
6. From the “Target” form, add -launch at the end. It should look like this “C:/Program Files (x86)/Diablo III/Diablo ” – 7. -launch
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6, on the other “Diablo III” game folder
8. Open the 2 shortcuts, to run 2 Diablo 3 clients simultaneously.

Or just use D3 Starter – Start multiple D3’s from the same folder [Standalone] D3 Starter – Start multiple D3’s from the same folder

Anyway, why should I run mutiple clients? I do not use bots to farm which would cause the ban just as you do not use diablo 3 gold from third party.

Do I need to buy multiple games to be able to play Diablo 3 with my - Arqade

Do I need to buy multiple games to be able to play Diablo 3 with my – Arqade

I know that the account is connected to your account(I already have one through SC2 and she doesn’t have any yet). I am buying the game tomorrow and I wish to know if one CD is enough. I doubt that Blizzard would allow this as this will obviously make them lose some sales(if a group of friends pool their money and pass the cd around and then play with just one cd alone).
Which brings me to my question:
does it need a CD to play? (SC2 doesn’t so hopefully it doesn’t also)
do I need to buy 2 games? I find it a waste of DVDs especially since you probably don’t need the disc to play the game
is there like just a license purchase of some sort? Kind of like just buy an D3 account or something? Or do I have to buy a digital copy?

Yes. Diablo 3 does not allow offline play. If you want to play with someone else, they must each make it past the log-in screen… which means you will both require a separate copy and associated Diablo 3 licence.
Also of note is that you may only have one Diablo 3 per account, so your wife will need to set up an additional account to be able to play with you.
If you purchase a physical copy, however, you will be able to share the installation disk, but Diablo 3 does not require a CD to run.

You do not need a CD to play
Your Diablo 3 license is tied to your Battlenet account; in other words, though you can use the installation disc to install the basic game on your computer, you will be unable to login to the game servers with your Battlenet account unless you have purchased a license.
As a result, you and your wife will need to buy two copies to play together. You could share one account, but note that this is against the game’s TOS and could result in a permanent account ban(which means you would need lose access to all your characters, progress, and game license, forcing you to buy a new copy).

If you both wish to play the game at the same time, you do need to purchase 2 different games (two different keys). The keys are linked directly with your account. If you log into your account to play and your wife logs into your account – you will be logged out instantly.
You do not technically need to purchase 2 different dvds, but rather 2 different keys. You can do this on Blizzard’s Diablo 3 purchase page. (virtual copy)

Incorrect if you buy the physical DVD you can share to any amount of people and those people will use there own account if you just buy it on your computer you cannot share you can only use your account which means its better to get the disk

Can I play Diablo 3 on multiple computers?

Just like WoW or SC2, the Battle.net license model means you can install it on multiple computers with no issue. The only limitation is that you can only play on one computer per B.net license at a time.Apr 20, 2012
