As many of you know, the reseller crowd has flooded into the community. I’m specifically talking about people who use shopify or checkout bots to “cop” (buy) hard to get product. I’ve noticed that many shop owners in this community apparently don’t have any clue on how to stop these bots. If anyone knows store owners that sell hard to get items at MSRP then this is the method they should use to stop these bots from buying all the product:Example product: a hard to get booster box that sells for $299 on ebay but MSRP is $100. Shop owner wants to sell the product at MSRP. 1. list the product on the website at a very high $1, 0002. Create a product specific discount code that gives a discount of $900 for the item. 3. Use a CAPTCHA text generator to convert the discount code into CAPTCHA text. Good one to use is this one:. Add the CAPTCHA discount code to whatever marketing material you’ve created. Always put the code as an image. Never type the discount code as text. 5. Post the marketing material with the discount code listed to your website, instagram, facebook end result is checkout bots will not purchase the product because it will exceed the bot’s purchase parameters and the bot operator will not have the discount code. By the time the bot operator finds the discount code (they will have to manually find the code themselves), the product will have already been purchased by legitimate do NOT list these items at specific times. Never have a promotion where you say the product will go live at HH:MM time because the bot operators will just input the discount code into the checkout parameters. Once you post the discount code, customers should be able to immediately go to your website to purchase. Another thing is that the “anti-bot” services sold by shopify and similar companies don’t really work and if they do work, it is always short-term. The bot developers just figure out workarounds to bypass these anti-bot methods. Cat and mouse game so to luck
