Written by an Indeed User on November 28, 2019, 02:48 AMProsFlexible class hours, Good teachers, Affordable, Helpful career services, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on trainingConsAbout every 2 months a new course CommentsA typical day of learning began with at home study of material being discussed the next day in course comprised 2 books, one from which to study, the other in which self testing was facilitated. Testing was also done in school each day in writing. The work was also demonstrated by the instructor, a nurse and eventually was performed by each course participant. A practicum experience was also required in a nursing home. The lesson material in addition to teaching physical aspects of care, also comprised information pertaining to various healthcare settings, specializations of care team members, legal & ethical issues, communication and cultural diversity, personal safety also for the caregiver, emergency care and disaster preparation, human needs and human development, anatomy, mental illness, special care skills, dying, death and hospice care, medical terminology and abbreviations, symbols and basic math skills. The hardest part of the training was the time limitation imposed for the skills test of 5 skills to be performed according to prescribed elements within 30 minutes. I passed 4 but lacked sufficient time for the fifth, which resulted in a failed score for the skills test. Due to illness, I was not able to retake the test, and because of insufficient notice time, it was not rescheduled. The most enjoyable part of the training was, learning and meeting new people. Overall RatingNo, I would not recommend this program to a friendView allView allReview this schoolHelp others find the right program for their next jobOther schools like NSB TrainersFind top schools and certifications in your areaDiscover where to get the certification you need, for the job you wantAll information on this page, including but not limited to price, cost, instructions, descriptions, and the content of a certification course, is presented for informational and promotional purposes only, is not legal advice, may be an approximation, is subject to change, and may have been generated by third parties.
