Nike Updates Snkrs App, Unveils Desktop & Android Versions
Ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto Feb. 11-14, Nike is updating its members-only Snkrs app. The app had previously only been available for Apple iOS, but is now being introduced for Android and desktop users.
The app allows users access to sneaker releases and sends reminders of a shoe’s drop time. You can also store credit card information for quick purchasing, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how some of Nike’s sneaker designs came to be.

“The new Snkrs app and Web experiences connect consumers to our products, innovation and storytelling better than ever before and help them get better access to the sneakers they love, ” said Matthew Siegel, Nike’s vice president and general manager of global digital commerce.
The updates give app users a more curated and personalized news stream and notifications. Nike is also ensuring heightened security during checkout.

Additionally, Nike has integrated The Draw—a sneaker release experience—that lets sneaker fans enter their shoe size and credit card info for a chance to purchase products that are in high demand. Winners are randomly selected.
Nike will use the Snkrs app during NBA All-Star Weekend to give its users additional exclusive access to sneakers including the Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit and Jordan XXX.
Meanwhile, Nike also announced that it has appointed its first Chief Digital Officer.

Just last month, Nike revealed that the SNKRS app would be receiving an update for its Exclusive Access launch model coming this Summer 2021. The brand recently shared additional details that showed users how they can receive access on Nike’s most coveted drops outside of the regular launch dates.
The brand emphasized that its goal is still to provide its members with access to the most exclusive products. However, content engagement is a must in order to be notified of any upcoming drops. Users are encouraged to tune into SNKRS Live sessions as ways that will help them increase their chances of gaining exclusive access.
Nike also confirmed that bots will not do anything to help users get greater chances. Using a bot to set up multiple accounts or tap on buttons will in fact get the users blocked from launch access. It is to be acknowledged that it is not something new for Nike to give its members Exclusive Access. The brand reminds fans that those who are lucky enough to receive exclusive access still might not be able to purchase the shoe in their preferred size due to limited releases.

How To Get SNKRS Orders Shipped To the UK
Step 1: Choose A Package Forwarder

After reviewing the data I collected on these and other metrics, it became clear to me that Planet Express was the best choice. Their customer service team responded to my emails quickly and thoroughly, they have thousands of 5-star reviews online, and their fees were consistently lower than all of the other package forwarders I looked at.

Step 2: Ship Your Order To Planet Express
As soon as you’ve signed up for Planet Express, you’ll receive a unique mailing address at their warehouse. Once you decide on the items you want to buy, just enter your Planet Express mailing address instead of your home mailing address and you’re all set.
If you’re not able to enter your home address as your credit card billing address, you should also be able to use Planet Express’ warehouse address without any issues.
Step 3: Forward Your Package
As soon as your order arrives at Planet Express’ warehouse, they’ll send you photos of the package to let you know it’s arrived. You’ll also be given a series of shipping options to choose from. I find that there’s generally at least 4 shipping options corresponding to 4 different price-speed combinations. Sometimes there can be as many as 10 or more shipping options—it just depends on the weight, size and value of your package.
Four of the shipping options I was presented with for my order. There were much faster shipping options available as well, but I chose a slower, cheaper option, since I wasn’t in a rush.
Here’s a shipping calculator comparing three different package forwarders: Traveling Mailbox, US Global Mail, and Planet Express. In my experience, the prices shown below are generally higher than what I’ve actually paid, since most retailers ship their products in smaller packaging than you’d expect.
My Personal Experience
I’ve used Planet Express more than a dozen times to ship packages to different parts of the world, and the experience has always been very smooth. Here’s how things went the last time I did it.
First, I decided what I wanted to buy. To be honest, this might be the hardest part of the entire process.
Second, I had my order sent to my unique address at the tax-free Planet Express warehouse in Oregon. Less than 48 hours later, I received an email from Planet Express letting me know that it had arrived. Some of the other package forwarders I tested took 2-3 days just to process my incoming packages (not including the shipping time), so this is extremely quick.
Third, I filled in Planet Express’ super-easy customs declaration form with the four pieces of information required:

Fourth, I chose the shipping option I wanted from a list of eight. Prices ranged from $6-$35 USD, plus insurance at an additional $2 USD, so I chose the cheapest one ($8 USD, including the insurance), and I was done. My package was shipped out later that same day, and when it arrived, everything was in perfect shape.
The Costs (Customs & Duties)
In my experience, the price I paid ($6 USD + $2 USD in insurance) is pretty standard for shipping packages from Planet Express to Canada. You also won’t need to pay any customs or duties on your imports thanks to the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trade deal that came into effect on July 1, 2020, which allows Canadians to import up to $150 CAD worth of goods from the US or Mexico without paying any customs or duties. This is a huge jump up from the previous threshold ($20 CAD), and means you probably won’t have to pay any customs or duties on any of your imports moving ahead.
