It’s not a bug and your GPS sensor isn’t broken. There are two ways to fix this issue: 1. Install “GPS Status” from the Play, launch and get a fresh GPS fix. You may need to repeat it several times with 30 min interval. 2. Start FakeGPS, set your real location and leave it so for several may combine these steps. The issue will disappear in one or two days – be ROOTED devices you can mock locations without enabling “Allow mock locations” option. To do so please use Root Explorer or other similar app and move /data/app/ to /system/priv-app or to /system/app (for Android 4. 3 and older). Then change apk permissions to rw-r-r and reboot your device. If you find apk in /syste/priv-app disappears after reboot it means that your devices has S-ON mode enabled and so restores /system folder aftear each reboot. Please google how to switch your device to S-OFF mode. If you can’t find in /data/app you may find it at /mnt/asec/ In this case you should copy and rename it to /system/priv-app/ USER LICENSE AGREEMENTThis app is provided “as is” and we can not be held responsible for any usage by the end users of our app. This app is free with limited functionality and is for testing purposes only.

Unfortunately, due to contracts made between sporting events, award shows, and other televised events with TV networks, sometimes you can’t watch something just because in a blacked-out market. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to spoof your location to get around these.
How to spoof your location on Android

Enable Developer options

Spoof your location
Enjoy your media
1. Download a GPS spoofing app
First, head to the Play Store and search for GPS spoofing apps. I recommend Fake GPS location primarily because it’s one of the highest rated GPS spoofing apps available. You can choose whichever one you like though.
2. Enable Developer options
Next, if you haven’t already done so, enable Developer options on your phone. To do this, jump into your settings menu by pulling down the notification shade and tapping on the gear icon. From there, scroll down to the bottom of the list and select the System option.
From there, choose About phone and rapidly tap on Build number. After, you will need to verify your lockscreen security, and then Developer options will be unlocked. To locate it, hit the back button once and select the new Develop options item.
3. Select mock location app
Now that you’re inside the Developer options menu, first make sure the toggle at the top of the list is turned on. Next, locate the Select mock location app option. Choose Fake GPS location or whichever app you installed on your device.
4. Spoof your location
With all of the above step taken care of, open the Fake GPS location app or whichever app you downloaded for this process. For Fake GPS location, you can either place your pin in a general location (such as a state or two away from you) or search for a specific address. After hit the “go” button and you should be spoofing your location.
5. Enjoy your media
If everything worked as planned, you should now be able to hop into your favorite media apps such as YouTube TV,, ABC, or so on and watch your desired event. Unfortunately, this isn’t going to be a full proof solution as some apps can detect when the mock location setting is in use and will block playback.

We ended up creating a monster! via GIPHYOur friends at on-demand delivery company Runnr, now Zomato, brought this problem to our attention when contracted delivery riders were faking locations to game the system. So we built a feature to resolve this by getting real-time location Read: Are your delivery drivers reaching customers on time? Detecting Mock Locations & Fake GPS Position on AndroidOn Android 17 (JellyBean MR1) and below mock locations are detected using The app can detect that users have enabled ALLOW_MOCK_LOCATION but has no easy way to determine whether locations received are mock or lution: The general pattern with mock locations is that bearing speed, accuracy, altitude and time interval (between consecutive data points) are hard-coded values. The HyperTrack API server supports location accuracy by detecting these patterns in order to discard such locations Android 18 (JellyBean MR2) and above mock locations are detected using FromMockProvider() for each location. The app can detect that the location came from a mock provider when the API returns lution: The HyperTrack SDK filters out mock locations on the device in order to prevent them from reaching the HyperTrack API server. HyperTrack removes Mock Locations by default. Developers may enable them using HyperTrack. enableMockLocations(boolean) for testing.
Mock location apps insufficient for testing HyperTrackIn essence, mock location apps generate a continuous stream of locations (latlongs). The HyperTrack SDK generates more than that. Location data is accompanied with activity data. Location streams are organized as a collection of activities in the life of the user. Read more about it in our previous blog on the pitfalls of using location streams. This makes mock location apps insufficient for testing the full power of HyperTrack troducing artMockTracking()A user’s tracking session starts with artTracking() and ends with opTracking(). In order to mock user movement, developers would call artMockTracking(callback) and opMockTracking() respectively. These API calls would start a simulation from your current location to a nearby place of interest within a 5-10km radius so the session is long enough to test features. The simulation mocks your device location activity and other sensor data so the app can cover real-world entropy. This powers a simulated experience that is closer to real world data and helps test HyperTrack features across the dashboard widgets in-app tracking and web tracking sktop view of tracked devicesFor detailed info on MockTracking APIs check out our post to mock user movement to test your live location Next? Detecting Mock Locations and removing them was just the start. Here is a short summary of what we plan to do next to make this more useful:For devices with Android 18 & above add “Mock Location detected” event for a user to receive Slack alerts for unexpected devices with Android 17 & below add “Mock Location enabled” warning to a device’s location history on the dashboard and us know what more you would like to see from HyperTrack with regard to detecting mock locations. Get started by plugging the location SDK into your app. It takes a few minutes to start building your location features with detection and removal of mock locations with no extra lines of code.
