The scraper arrived with very crude, makeshift cardboard and tape protection over the blade that can be removed only with great difficulty. You will need a bottle of Goo-Be-Gone to succeed. A spare piece of cardboard was stapled and taped to the blade as a protective sheath. I required a sharp scissor to remove it, but very sticky tape still stuck to the blade. The manufacturer also applied their own protective tape over the edge of the blade that also requires a solvent to remove. The blade is razor-sharp, so all this requires great care. This is a well made, sharp scraper once you remove the junk it is wrapped in.
