Launch of IPS Prospectus 2021-2022 – publicservice.gov.mt

​The Institute for the Public Services (IPS) has published the applications for its Prospectus for the academic year 2021-2022. It provides a list of training programmes and courses aimed at furthering personal and professional development of Public terested officers can access the Prospectus on, where they shall click on the tab indicating their grade or the category applicable to their career advancement, choose those courses of interest, their preferred date of attendance, and submit the mentioned during the Public Service Week 2021, the IPS academic year is split in two Semesters: Semester A: October 2021 – February 2022 and Semester B: March 2022 – July 2022. Moreover, applications for the Programmes and Courses published in the Prospectus, are only accepted when the application period is open. The application period for Semester A is now open and ends on 17th September 2021, while the application period for Semester B is from 03rd January 2022 till 11th February was also the case last year, the Prospectus includes courses organised by the Institute for the Public Services in conjunction with other tertiary education institutions that are in strategic partnership with IPS, namely the University of Malta and the Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). These courses have been customised to meet the specific needs of the Public Service. Another component of the Prospectus is dedicated to those in technical and industrial grades. This component is also being published separately as a leaflet, outlining the training dedicated to employees in these grades. In a circular by the Principal Permanent Secretary to all directors it was stressed that it is of utmost importance, that awareness of this training is raised among all such employees through the Directors responsible for People Management, Human Resources or Corporate Services in the respective ministries. It is the responsibility of these directors to ensure this is done and to assist in the application process. Directors responsible for People Management, Human Resources or Corporate Services need to fill in the application which can be downloaded by clicking on this link. Applications in this format will only be accepted for those employees falling in this category, and who do not have a CORP or eID or iLearn account. The application is to be submitted by email on not later than 17 September Institute for the Public Services operates on an academic-year basis, thus applications will only be accepted during the periods mentioned above. No late applications will be considered. This does not apply to those Programmes and training courses which are mandatory and have a distinct application process, such as the Introduction Programmes for new recruits, since these are offered on an ongoing case of difficulty one can either contact the Directors responsible for Human Resources and People Management or IPS directly on, or on 2200 1884.

Welcome to the Commerce Department’s IP portal. This platform provides a variety of tools related to the protection of trademarks and designs in Malta. Through this portal, the Commerce Department is making available databases where you may browse the local trademarks and design register. You may also apply for a trademark through an easy-to-use wizard which guides users through the steps. Further tools will be added to the portal in the coming portal and tools have been developed with the support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (European Union Trademark and Designs) under the Cooperation Fund programme.
