Instagram has proven its authority in social media since damn near day one. The channel has been quickly adopted by brands as a must-have appendage to their digital presence. As a branding agency offering social and community management services, the trend has been to figure out the winning strategy for the channel and our clients who play hurdle we’ve had with Instagram as an agency is simple: you can only be logged into one account per device at a time. This makes managing multiple clients, personal accounts, and your bearded dragons fan page, difficult. Even in a team atmosphere, the act of logging in and out limits the amount of monitoring and interaction taking the immediacy of social media, single account login and management per device on IG creates a barrier. When your team manages multiple accounts on countless social platforms… bingo… that’s where the time suck begins. Yes, it definitely gets more complex from there. And yes, there are tools to help decrease the energy and effort. Social management apps like Hootsuite and Sprout Social have recently introduced features to aid in the process. Nothing has remedied the core issue at hand, though. Until the rollout of the multi Instagram accounts login and management feature, we can kiss the frustration of being blind to activity on some accounts while being logged into one, goodbye. We no longer have to carry 3 phones and 2 iPads with us everywhere we go because we “work in social media. ”Now, we’re finally able to login to multiple (up to five) accounts at one time. We can switch between accounts easily and receive notifications of every double tap from all accounts right to our home screen. You might want to consider adjusting your settings though if you’re maxing out the account limit. Let’s review some of the wins for the new IG feature…In a world where time (or at least the perception of it, think of Uber’s business model) is being sold, this opens up quite a bit for those of us who manage multiple IG FOMO reduction – When you’re managing multiple social accounts, you constantly have a Fear Of Missing Out. Being logged into only one Insta account keeps you that much further from being first on the scene when the new cat meme drops. Goodbye, Insta tifications Galore – in light of the above, you’ll now have accurate notifications showing you who’s doing what, when they’re doing it and on which account. No more notifications for client X when you’re logged into client Zs account. Should be interesting to see some data on how this affects the notifications feature in mass, though. Expect to want to turn yours off or at least mute some of them pretty quickly. Everyone with an alter ego, a pet they think is cute, a side project or business, or a new social scheme can easily create and manage multiple Instagram accounts. See the double edge to the sword here? Below are some reasons why we’re cautious…With so much drama – we are in control of our feeds and what we see currently on Instagram. Maybe not so much in the near future. Over posting and over advertising on the platform could be very count Overload – the lack of multiple account access deterred individuals and brands from making accounts for every little side project or a cute pet. This feature could lend itself to a plethora of new pages which may flood feeds with content overload… and not the good kind of content. Remember when Facebook pages exploded… everyone and their mom had pages for everything from bands to local meet-ups and garage sales. Helpful in some cases, but it quickly got out of monetization – Instagram has slowly been monetized since Facebook bought it. We’ve recently seen more and more ads showing up in the feed. We expect this new feature to be the start of new monetization ntent – the quality of content on Instagram is likely to take a nosedive in mass. This new feature will likely bring an onset of more bad memes, discount codes and overall content to the platform. It’s Tap Battles – get ready to see poor quality accounts getting massive amounts of attention from guess who… themselves. The folks who go through hashtag feeds and like every photo will now have more carpel tunnel as they do it from multiple accounts instantly. We may all start getting more likes and follows, but not the organic ones we stagram has been successful because of the simplicity and authenticity to connect in an ad-free environment. We first started seeing brands use the channel for mass-influencer outreach. We now have ads, though tastefully presented, show up more and more frequently. Is this the next big move in an effort to turn Instagram into the next banner ad? While the update is super helpful, what’s next? We’ll likely start seeing more and more ads showing up. There’s been a talk of allowing links in the post descriptions. Will we start seeing the same algorithmic frequency applied to ‘Business’ accounts that we’ve gotten accustomed to within the Facebook walls? Time will tell…So far, Instagram has done a solid job of staying genuine and free of over advertising and outbound links. Let’s hope this update doesn’t snowball into more anding out from the noiseAdding multiple accounts in Instagram is a great new feature. Again, we’re psyched… but cautious. In the end, it comes down to staying true to your brand. At all costs. Don’t get caught up in the fake numbers game. Quality, authentic content, and interaction will continue to be the main ingredient. Be mature about the content your brand creates and publishes. In order to stand out on Instagram, it will be more pertinent than here to get 12 Free Instagram Templates created by our design squad.
How to Hide Instagram Account and Prevent Other Users from Finding You

How to Hide Instagram Account and Prevent Other Users from Finding You

By default the images you share on your Instagram profile can be viewed by virtually anyone with the app. If you’d rather stay under the radar instead, there are a few of things you can do to hide your Instagram account and prevent your contacts and other people from finding you on the social network.
For example, by removing specific information, even if someone has your phone number, they won’t be able to find you on Instagram. Follow along with this guide, as we detail additional options that will help you stay hidden from prying eyes.
Remove Your Facebook Account from Instagram
To make sharing easier, Instagram allows you to link your Facebook account to the app. If you want to hide your Instagram account, we advise against it. Once you connect the two accounts, you will pop up in the “Discover People” tab of the people who have added you on Facebook. If you already have the two linked, go ahead and remove your Facebook connection from Instagram.
1. Open the Instagram app on your Android device.
2. Tap on your circular profile icon on the bottom right.
3. Go to the hamburger menu located in the upper-right corner of your profile.
4. Select Settings.
5. At the bottom, you’ll notice a section that says “Accounts Center. ” Click on it.
6. Tap on “Accounts & Profiles. ”
7. Select your Facebook profile.
8. Tap on the “Remove from Accounts Center” option to get rid of the account.
9. Instagram will ask you to confirm whether you want to “disable connected experiences for your account. ” Tap on the blue Continue button.
Once you unlink your Facebook account, you will no longer appear in the “Discover People” tab when your Facebook friends decide to sync their contacts.
Make Your Account Private
Setting your account to private is one of the easiest ways to make your profile less visible. Even if someone does eventually find you, they won’t be able to see your posts unless you give them express permission to do so.
You can activate the privacy mode by heading to “Settings -> Privacy” and toggling on the “Private Account” option at the top.
Remove Your Phone Number from Instagram
Before you go ahead with removing your phone number from Instagram, keep in mind that you won’t be able to have the two-factor authentication feature enabled. You also need to have a verified email address for this to work, since Instagram does require at least one verified way to contact you.
You can disable two-factor-authentication by going to “Settings -> Security -> Two-Factor Authentication” and turning it off from there.
To remove your phone number, tap on the profile icon and select “Edit Profile. ” Swipe down to “Personal Information Settings, ” and your phone number will be the second one down.
Once your phone number is removed, people who have saved your digits to their mobile won’t be able to find you once they activate “Connect Contacts. ”
Turn Contact Syncing Off
Speaking of which, you’ve probably used the option yourself back when you were setting up your Instagram account for the first time.
Still, if you wish to stay hidden, you should relinquish this functionality. Go to “Settings -> Account -> Contacts Syncing” and disable “Connect Contacts” from there.
Prevent Your Friends from Finding You in Similar Accounts
The person you’re trying to hide from can easily find you if they are following an account similar to yours. To disable this feature, go to Instagram on your desktop browser. Strangely enough, you won’t be able to turn off this option from your phone or tablet.
Once you’ve accessed Instagram on the Web, click on your profile icon in the top right of the screen and then on the “Edit Profile” button. Toward the bottom, you’ll see a box you can uncheck that will prevent your account from appearing in any similar account results. Don’t forget to click on the blue Submit button.
From here, it’s also possible to add or remove your phone number, in case you didn’t follow the steps described above.
Turn Your Online Status Off
If you want even more privacy, turning your online status off is a step in the right direction. To hide your online status from others, go to Settings once more and swipe down to Privacy.
Tap on “Activity Status” and toggle off the “Show Activity Status” button. If the button is blue, that means it’s on, and if it’s grey, it’s off.
Block Certain Accounts
Want to make absolutely sure someone can’t find you no matter what? Block their account if you know their username.
Simply navigate to their profile and tap on the three-dot menu in the corner of the display. A pop-up menu will show up from the bottom of the display. Select Block from there.
The only way to be 100% sure no one will ever find you is if you erase your account. But since you may not want to do that, hiding your Instagram account is your best bet.
