How To Get Banned

Ban | Roblox Wiki

The Ban Hammer is often referenced in metaphors for being banned from Roblox, although it does not ban people.
A ban is a form of account suspension that can occur when a player violates the Terms of Use or Community Rules on Roblox. Players are typically given warnings on their first few offenses, and the number of warnings a user can obtain before getting an actual ban varies. If the violation is serious, such as phishing, scamming, adult content, hacking, game theft, or violation of federal law, accounts can be deleted without any prior notices or commands.
Additionally, a player can receive a ban from an individual game, however this ban is only carried out by a game moderator, not by a Roblox administrator. An admin command script is often used to carry out these bans.
Players are unable to view the profiles of deleted accounts. However, a bug on January 15, 2014 gave users access to view terminated account profiles. [1][2][3] According to a forum reply by Merely, [4] administrator NobleDragon announced the bug was an update, but the announcement can no longer be found. The announcement was probably deleted to prevent the spread of further misinformation about the change.

In-game bans
An in-game ban, not given by Roblox staff but instead by game owners or players with admin powers within a place, only restricts the player’s access to a specific game. These bans can range from being kicked from a server to being permanently banned from a game. If a player is banned from a game, they are usually restricted from access until the server is shut down unless another one is running. Players with in-game bans still have access to the Roblox website, their own places, and other games they can access. This ban will not affect your moderation history across the platform.
However, some places may block access to specific players and theoretically ban them; this usually occurs in group-run places with restrictions imposed on other groups or users. A player who is blocked from a game may also be immediately kicked from the server. This can also happen to any player if a server is locked by an in-game admin (you will not have access to the server unless it is unlocked or restarted).
Exploiting
Exploiting is a major violation of the Terms of Service and can result in light or harsh moderation action depending on the severity of the exploit. For this reason, exploiters commonly do their business exploiting on alternate accounts (however this can backfire if the account is IP banned, in which case they may also choose to use a VPN). Due to this evasion method, it is very difficult to capture an exploiter.
However, there are other techniques that developers can use to identify exploiters. For instance, in Shedletsky’s Sword Fight on the Heights IV, the game had a badge unobtainable without exploiting, Touch The Divine.
Here’s Roblox’s response to Cheating/Exploiting
Issues
Private servers
If an account is banned or terminated and has an active subscription to a private server, the subscription will continue after each renewal date as long as they still have sufficient Robux in the account to rent another month of the server, meaning that the banned account will lose Robux. It is unknown whether this will ever be patched.
Audio refund incident
An account termination from the audio refund incident.
On July 4, 2018, thousands of Roblox accounts received an account deletion with the moderator note Your account has been deleted for violating the Terms of Use for exploiting the audio refunds system. after receiving a double refund for uploading audio that was rejected after its first review. Roblox announced their reinstatement of affected accounts. A similar incident later occurred in 2020.
Botting incident
On October 17, 2018, thousands of Roblox accounts received an account deletion with the moderator note Roblox ToS Violation. This ban wave primarily targeted bot users due to scams that were being perpetrated by them, although some innocent users which included known developers and traders were affected as well. All terminations from the incident were given out at 4:51:49 PM.
Exploiting ban wave
On April 24, 2020 and December 4, 2020, many users received bans of varying time amounts for “exploiting”, as a way to target the working practice of exploiting using any Lua scripting exploit, while the December ban wave specifically targeting Synapse users. Whether or not a majority of the users were innocent is debated. Some of the targeted users were banned for using FPS unlockers, despite Roblox’s consensus that they are allowed. The ban wave took place between 9:38 and 9:42 PDT in April and from 1:07 CT in December and ended on 10:00 EST.
False ban requests
In January 2021, users were intentionally abusing the Roblox Support form to falsely claim they were the parent of a user and request their account to be terminated. Affected users include Roblox YouTubers LisaGaming_YT and Parlophones.
Refund Method ban wave
In 2021, players found a way to get Robux for free. They would pay for the robux and then get back their money (refunding). They would get a lot of robux by just refunding. As soon as it came to Roblox’s attention, they patched the glitch and terminated most of the accounts that did the glitch. Roblox also gave second chances to some players by removing the unauthorized charges.
Players that did the glitch and were terminated received the following moderator note: “Your account has been moderated because one or more of the charges on the account were reported as unauthorized or disputed by the billing account holder. ”
Appeals and membership
The new membership notice for terminated users used since August 2020.
Users are encouraged to appeal a moderation action through the Roblox Support form. If the moderation action is deemed incorrect, it can be lifted. Appeal responses may take a while.
Terminated players with an active Roblox Premium subscription receive an additional notification. This notification identifies when the player’s Roblox membership will expire or renew and how to cancel their membership subscription if desired.
Criticism
A popular rumor spread throughout 2011–2013 claimed that moderator MSE6 banned/deleted users for no reason.
Roblox has been heavily criticized for their poor moderation on user accounts in the past couple of years. Many players claim to have received a false ban, and contact Support to receive a reply saying they cannot help.
A notable case of a false ban was when a user named ambusher11 was terminated in February 2020. Ambusher posted about the termination on the Roblox subreddit; in the post (which was later removed by subreddit moderators due to a rule violation), Ambusher claimed to have been framed by a user who filed a support claim typed in all caps and swear words that requested for ambusher11 to be terminated. The ticket was approved and as a result, ambusher11’s account was deleted. [24][25] In the replies of ambusher11’s Reddit post, many users were disappointed that Roblox had accepted the request. The account’s termination has not been lifted.
As there are many wealthy users on Roblox, their accounts can be targets for users to steal. On January 26, 2021, a wealthy Roblox YouTuber named ImFaire announced on Twitter that his account was compromised. [26] His valuable limited items and account were lost in the process. Roblox Support later lifted ImFaire’s account termination.
Trivia
This section is a trivia section. Please relocate any relevant information into other sections of the article.
According to Shedletsky (Telamon at the time), the first problematic user that Roblox staff encountered on the platform was found on October 17, 2006. [27] However, it is unknown who the user was.
The ban appeals were not implemented until 2012. The original appeal target was, and in 2019 the target was changed to the Support Form. However, an appeal can still be sent to
Before the 14-day ban was removed, when someone receives a termination, the top might state that their account has been suspended for 14 days.
In September 2020, the ban notice was redesigned to support dark mode. The Robux balance now displays as “? ” for a banned user.
Roblox moderates accounts based on international law. Previously, they only issued moderation actions on accounts which violated US federal law; however, after Roblox was banned in the United Arab Emirates (presumably for failing to moderate accounts according to their laws), Roblox now moderates accounts based on the laws of other countries. For example, users can now request to have their accounts and all information about them deleted, and Roblox may issue moderation actions on accounts which refuse to comply with EU privacy laws.
A glitch on the mobile app occasionally causes the player to see a message claiming their account is terminated when they have received no recent moderation actions.
It is possible to receive a ban while already banned, allowing unusual total ban times, like 9. 5 days.
Before 2014, a ban notice did not require a Moderator Note. It would instead display only the reason box if there was one.
Players who receive a moderation action while in-game are kicked and receive Error Code 273. Attempting to reconnect will change the error to Error Code 769.
If an account that opened Roblox Studio first on the IP gets banned, the account gets poison banned from Studio until the time closes. [citation needed]
If an image is moderated, the asset name will appear with the reason Inappropriate, no matter what offense it features. Sometimes it will say Adult Content.
Users used to be able to view their Moderation History. Previously, only parent accounts could do so. This feature was removed in 2016.
In 2014, a glitch added a reactivation option to the deletion page. Though this glitch is patched, those deletion pages still show the reactivation option. [citation needed] The reactivation option will still appear on a user’s deletion page if an appeal they submit is accepted.
No matter what language the website is set to, moderator notes and reasons may appear in Spanish.
Sometimes Roblox accepts appeals from terminated players after the allowed time to make an appeal. For example, in April 2021, 3Zeuss’s appeal was accepted. The user had been terminated for 96 days.
Prior to the August 2020 update to the ban page, whenever an image or in-game message was marked as Adult Content, it would be replaced with a red danger sign with the writing “CONTENT BLOCKED” underneath it.
Before 2009, the website used to display “Reported” instead of ”Reviewed” and the reason displays in a box instead of “Reason: [Reason]”. The moderator note does not include “Moderator Note:” in some bans in 2008. Earlier in 2008, It used to display “Source: Chat”.

It depends on a lot of things. the best thing to do is try not to get alerts at all.

Usually you get two warnings before a temporary ban. Generally your first ban will be about 3 and 1/2 days, so it isn’t that long. If you do something really severe though, you might get banned immediately, and each time you get banned the time increases. Trying to get around bans with an alternate account will extend your ban time and may get you IP banned. If you carry one for too long, you will get perm-banned and your account will be deleted. You can read more about bans a slightly unrelated note, I see you put The United States of America was here – Canadaunderneath your post. When you see a comment that somebody puts after all their posts, that’s actually a signature. You can read more about them here, but basically you set your signature by the link at the bottom of the main discussion page, and it will then auto-post after each of your posts. If you need a link, try this.

I haven’t got a single alert in this on a previous one, when I was really immature and started flame wars over nothing, I got plenty of of them, but I never got muted or banned. I think I had 3 or 4.

(Please only bump once a day)Gettng blocked can depend on a lot of things – not just the amount of alerts. The severity of your alerts and the amount of time that has passed between them can all affect possiblity of being banned. For example, if you made a simple mistake (or got an alert for something your friend did also bUT THEY DIDN’T GET ONE. WHOEVER REPORTED MY COMMENT WHY DID YOU NOT REPORT MY FRIEND’S TOO. YOU GAVE ME A GOSHDANG UNNNECESSARY ALERT. okay I’m getting off track) once and got an alert, and did the same 6 months later, you’re unlikely to be banned. But if you get caught out swearing 3 times in one month, yeah, you have first-class tickets down the Banned Train.

We’re a bit more lenient with question duplicates – especially since we’ll often close old questions. But I think this thread linked above explains the issue pretty well. Though the answer is complicated – it depends, and if you get an alert for something, you should do your best to stop doing that.

How Many Reports Does it Take to Get Banned on League of Legends …

How many reports does it take to get banned on LoL? There is no set number of reports that will get a player banned. However, if a player is consistently reported throughout different games, this will result in some form of disciplinary action, which we will discuss in this article. Take note that for a player to face potential punishment, you will need to report them through the in-game system – sending a message to Player Support isn’t going to help.

What is the Reporting Feature?
The reporting feature on League of Legends can be found at the end of a match – it allows players to report a player. After the game, hover your mouse over the name of the player – numerous icons will pop up, and one of those icons will be a red exclamation mark. By clicking on the exclamation mark, a reporting form will appear on your screen – this is where you can report the negative behavior on that particular player. Once you have filled out the form, in order to report it to Riot, you will need to click on the “Report” button.
Reporting Options
Verbal Abuse
Verbal abuse includes, but is not limited to, the language that is harmful, unlawful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Negativity
This involved giving up (no one likes playing with people who walk away from a game), griefing, or putting other players down. Tyler1 got banned for this
Leaving the Game
Like we just said, no one likes playing with people that walk away from a game. When a player leaves the game or is AFK the entire game, you can report them.
Hate Speech
Hate speech includes homophobia, sexism, racism, etc.
Cheating
When you feel that someone is using unapproved third-party programs, then, by all means, use that report button.
Inappropriate Names
This includes names that are vulgar, defamatory, offensive, sexually explicit, obscene, ethnically, racially, or otherwise objectionable. There are times when players try to get around this by misspelling a word or using a character – if the name mentions any of the above, you can report the player.
The reporting feature in League of Legends, and any other game, should not be used as a form of retaliation against someone. You should only report a player if they are breaking the rules.
Not sure whether or not you should report a player? Below, we are going to give you some examples so that you can make an educated decision.
Examples of Reportable Behavior:
Losing the game on purposeBeing offensive to another playerRefusing to support your teamRefusing to participate in the matchUsing offensive commentary
Examples of Acceptable Behavior
Trying a strategy that is unusual, yet viableSpeaking in another languageMaking mistakesMaking poor judgment callsUsing non-derogatory terms
Punishments
The punishments a player can get in League of Legends for breaking the rules, in our opinion, are fair. The punishment system ranges from Level 1 to Level 5, with Level 5 being a permanent ban. Each level involves the Honor system.
Level 1: This will give the player a slow honor experience gain.
Level 2: The honor will be demoted to level 1 – if already at level 1, it will be demoted to 0 + the next 10 games will be chat restricted.
Level 3: The honor will be demoted to level 1, or if already at level 1, it will be demoted to 0 + the next 25 games will be chat restricted.
Level 4: This involves a 14-day ban from the game, and the honor will be demoted to level 0.
Level 5: This is a permanent ban from the game, meaning the player will never be able to play League of Legends under that account again.
Being Permabanned
When an individual is permabanned from the game, they can’t play LoL using that account again.
Can a Permaban be Removed?
It is rare for a permaban to be removed. Most of the time, once a player has reached the point of being permabanned, they have more than likely been banned before. The player was already made aware that this type of behavior in the game is not accepted.
Unless you are the one that caused the individual to get banned, you’re not going to know if the player was banned. However, what you could do is go to something like and look their name up to see when the last time they played League of Legends was.
If you were the one that caused the player to be banned, you should get a popup if they get banned.
You can submit a ticket for a data request. Once you follow the required process, you will receive personal information related to your League of Legends account.
Some of the information you will receive from the data request includes:
The phone number that is attached to your League of Legends accountThe login history – this will be for the last three months. Your in-game chat logs from the last three months or the past 100 games. Your player support ticket ports that you have received and made within the last three months or the past 100 games.
Once you have made a request for your data, it will take 30 days to process. If you want to cancel the request, all you have to do is click on the cancel link in your ticket. Resetting your password or changing your email address will automatically cancel the data request.
You will receive a zipped file that contains text files. To view these files in your text editor, you will need to have the latest Mac or Windows OS. If you are not updated with the latest version, you can use Notepad++.
Conclusion
How many reports does it take to get banned on LoL? Again, there is no set number of reports that will get a player banned. Let’s just make sure you don’t get your League of Legends account banned, so make sure you follow the rules and play fair.
