New York has great public transportation, as it is the primary way for New Yorkers to commute. The public transportation includes the MTA subway, MTA buses, Long Island Railroad, and Amtrak. New York City is served by three major airports: JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport (domestic) are in New York and Newark International Airport is in New Jersey State, about 1 hour west of Manhattan. We suggest booking a flight to JFK or LaGuardia Airport, these are about 30 minutes from most of our host families and closer to Manhattan than Newark. For those students requesting our Airport Pickup service, please keep in mind that this service is available only for JFK and LaGuardia Airports.
