I bet you guys will get mad at me for not searching – but I’m not even sure what to look for. I’m looking for an unobtrusive program that will sit on top of my windows and show me the key info I need to monitor my system – RAM use, CPU percentages, CPU/GPU heat, and hopefully FPS. Any suggestions? I’ve seen a similar thing in Rainmeter but didn’t want to go down that rabbit in or sign up to leave a commentPlanning on building a computer but need some advice? This is the place to ask!

HWMonitor, PC-Wizard, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, GKRellM, NZXT CAM, Speccy, HWiNFO64 e. t. c so many to choose from. Which is the easiest to use for checking my system from time to time? Log in or sign up to leave a comment
level 1Open hardware monitororMSI Afterburnerlevel 1They all have most of Speccy is probably the most simple/rsonally I don’t use it. HWmonitor and GPU-Z give you a lot more options and detail, that’s what I go 1MSI Afterburner. Set a hotkey to toggle the OSD to display temps and usage of anything you 1CPU-Z for checking CPU/RAM speeds and voltages. HWMonitor for checking system temperatures. Afterburner for monitoring GPU usage 1Hwinfo is probably the best.

Connected via fiberopticts from our main 80 HP and Compaq(the oldest) servers. Some Blade, some non-blade. with 4 physical serversCisco network equipment (except the HP-switches in the racks)Microsoft servers (Some 2000, many 2003s and most 2008 R2)Oracle databases for our main systems¨Our team:One network adminOne db admin / current department headOne system admin (specific systems)One everything windows admin (MS Server, GPOs, AD, One hardware admin (laptops, thin clients, new servers)Our basic need:To be alerted when something goes down (switch loses power, server crashes, etc)To be alerted before a disk is full (data disks on databaseservers)To be alerted when the oracle or microsoft-software have issues (licencing, tablespace, authentication, etc)To monitor the use of the network to find bottlenecksI’ve been recommended Splunk and Microsoft System Center. I’ve also tried PRTG (liked that I only had to give it very few instructions to find everything and start monitoring). We also have HP Systems Insight Manager unused on a do you recommend? Money isn’t really an issue here, but usability is.
