Can I use a free VPN to change region on Netflix?

Providing full access to Netflix requires a lot of effort on the part of a provider and free services simply aren’t profitable enough to justify these resources on an ongoing basis. A free VPN might let you explore another country’s Netflix catalog, but when it comes time to watch you’ll almost certainly encounter the proxy error.
What’s more, these services typically provide users with a limited selection of servers, which means you’re less likely to be able to access the Netflix library you’re looking for. Even if you do get access, chances are you’ll be frustrated with slow connection speeds and even having to wait in a queue for some servers. You may also find free VPNs don’t offer unlimited bandwidth, making it difficult to do any streaming of HD content. This type of monthly data cap isn’t an issue when using any of the premium VPNs recommended above.

To access different Netflix libraries on your phone, you’ll need to use a VPN to spoof your location. Don’t worry, it’s not as complex as it sounds.
Here’s how to change Netflix region on iPhone:

Roku is another system that does not support native VPN apps, but there are a few options for changing Netflix region on Roku if you’re willing to put in some effort.
Here’s how to change Netflix country on Roku:

Create a VPN -protected wifi hotspot on your laptop computer, and connect your Roku to it.

How to change Netflix region FAQ
Can I use a DNS proxy to change region on Netflix? Many providers of DNS proxy services will advertise the ability to watch Netflix and other streaming sites. Indeed, as long as the IP address they provide isn’t blocked by Netflix, then you’ll be able to gain access and enjoy streaming shows and movies.
However, the major problem is that it’s very easy for Netflix to block DNS proxies, so they end up being very unreliable. They also tend to have fewer countries available, so you have less chance of finding the library you want. One proxy that doesn’t suffer from these issues is ExpressVPN’s MediaStreamer DNS service, which is included in every subscription. It’s used by default when you connect to the VPN but can also be configured separately.
More importantly for some, a DNS proxy does not encrypt your traffic, so your activity is open to your ISP and anyone else who might be snooping. As mentioned earlier, Netflix has cracked down on allowing subscribers to watch content through a VPN. Log out of any accounts that cache your IP address, such as any Google account.

app of differences you might experience while abroad.
You will be informed of changes to:
Selection of TV shows and movies: Your choices for streaming and downloading (including audio/subtitle options) will vary from country to country. Also, My List and
Continue Watching titles may not be available.
Different maturity ratings: Maturity ratings and classifications are shown for the country you are in. If you have parental controls set that use a different rating system than the country you’re
visiting, titles may be available (or unavailable) due to the differences in the maturity ratings.
Downloads: Current downloaded titles on your phone, tablet, or computer may not be available while in a different country.
You will see these notifications on computer browsers and most phones and tablets.
Moving within your current country
Streaming customers:
If you are moving within your current country, you can continue to enjoy the same Netflix experience without making any changes.
DVD customers:
Make sure to update your shipping address by visiting your Account and
selecting DVD shipping address. Your address change will take effect immediately. After you mail back your current discs, the next disc in your Queue will ship to your new address.
Moving to a new country
If you are moving to a new country where Netflix is available, there are a few things to be aware of:
Monthly price, billing currency, and available payment methods may vary by country.
You will continue to be billed in the currency of the country you signed up in.
If you wish to be billed in the currency of the country you moved to: cancel your account, wait until the remainder of your month is over, and restart your account in the new country.
Your selection of TV shows and movies may change. Your choices for streaming and downloading will vary from country to country.
Audio and subtitle options may change.
Different maturity ratings. Your parental controls settings may need to be updated.
If you wish to change your profile maturity ratings to reflect those of the country you moved to, cancel and restart your account in your new country.
If your account was set up with age verification, cancel and restart your account in your new country.
Note:
If you receive the Now on Netflix emails and move to a new country, the email will still show TV shows and movies for the country you signed up in. You can unsubscribe to it from your
Communications settings.
Netflix is not available in China, Crimea, North Korea, or Syria. If you are moving to one of these countries, you may cancel your account by signing in and visiting your Account page.
DVD shipments are only available within the United States. If you are moving abroad, you can cancel your DVD plan from your Account page.
If you are a US Service Member, you can receive DVDs by using an APO, FPO, or DPO address.
