Back to search resultsYes. However, you may need to configure your proxy server for Skype to connect correctly. You may be able to configure your proxy via the system environment property “HTTPS_PROXY”, using the following format: HTTPS_PROXY=(s)username:password@hostname:port Please check with your network admin or ISP for the details of the proxy server. After configuring the environment variable, please restart the Skype app for it to pick up the new proxy configuration. This is applicable for Windows desktop, Mac and Linux. This is not available on mobile or tablet. If for some reason Skype cannot connect to your proxy server, please contact your network administrator to verify or manually configure your proxy settings.

Can I connect to Skype through a proxy server?
If you connect to the internet through a proxy server, Skype automatically detects your proxy settings.
If for some reason Skype cannot connect to your proxy server, you can try to manually configure Skype to connect to it — but
we don’t support manually configuring your proxy settings and cannot guarantee the steps below will work for you.
For this case, you can install the classic Skype, we’ve already restored it. To install the classic Skype:
Click this link:
the v button and select Get classic Skype.
Then configure your proxy settings manually:
In Skype, click Tools > Options.
Under Advanced, click Connection.
By default, Skype will attempt to automatically detect your proxy settings. To specify the exact proxy settings that Skype will use, choose an alternative option from the dropdown menu.
Enter the Host and Port details of the proxy server.
If your proxy requires authentication, tick Enable proxy authentication.
Type the Username and Password required by the proxy server (not your Skype Name and password) and click
Save.
Close Skype and make
sure that Skype is no longer running.
Restart Skype and sign in.
